LIVESTRONG

Jeron and Jeremiah rode in the LIVESTRONG road rally today in Fallon. Jeron rode two miles...plus at least 3 while he was waiting for it to start, and Jeremiah rode 30. We had a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and Holly.

Nice Ride

Grandpa entered Old Blue in his first car show today and won FIRST IN CLASS!! Way to go, Grandpa! Nice trophy!

The Final Word on Easter Eggs

Okay...I FINALLY remembered to ask Claire about the egg thing when I talked to her yesterday. It is TRUE!! They really did color every egg in the house when they were dying Easter eggs...hard-boiled AND RAW! Claire said there were times that they had to carefully crack the egg to know if it was raw or not before knowing whether or not they could use it for the application they intended at the time. Not a chance I will ever take! To each his own...they had fun!

The Verdict is IN...

The Sportrac stays...the kids have to be crunched for a while...we save $35,000!! I'm not sure these are the safest seats around, but they are the narrowest...a prayer or two in our behalf would be appreciated. They are all installed appropriately and tightly. Jeron can still buckle himself in without help, but he'll now have to wait for someone to open the door for him, as he is unable to scoot his seat out of the way. We'll pray before we drive and with a little faith and luck, we should be okay! Way to find skinny seats, Mom!

Question of the Day

WILL the Higleys be able to fit three...that's 3...carseats in their Explorer Sportrac? Or, will they be buying a new vehicle before the baby comes...? Let us know what you think...answer to come as soon as we figure it out!

Flying Kites...Jeron Style

For those of you who read Kim's blog...you'll understand better the title. You see, Kim posted these lovely pictures of kites flying high in the air, excited children tightly holding onto the opposite end of the string. The backdrop was the beautiful field in their backyard. Dad and Mom were both there...I'm sure Wyatt was snuggled somewhere nearby. It was truly a Sorensen Family Moment. I think I commented about what a fun mom Kim is and what great memories she's creating for her children...

Fast forward to today...Jeron FINALLY got to buy a kite. (He and Jadee both got 100% at their dentist check-ups...no plaque, no cavities...rewards in order!) I told Jeron that I would help him put the kite together and fly it after naps. Jeron is a do-it-yourselfer, so he had it perfectly put together long before Jadee and I finally came around from dozing. The wind had been howling most of the day...too much for cheap kites from Wal-Mart. I tried to explain this to Jeron, but he was insistent. I tried to help him get it flying, but there really was too much wind. He finally let it go for a bit, but soon was back at it. He was determined to fly the kite, even if he had to do it alone. So, he ran and ran and ran, kite dodging and diving behind him. Once in a while it would fly for a second or two...apparently enough success for him. He kept at it for quite some time.

Getting ready...

Maybe if I run really fast and pull really hard, it will go up?!

Small success!

There was no high-flying kite, but the little boy on the other end of the string was still excited. There was no beautiful backdrop, just the culdesac. And the rest of the family was busy with other things...so much for a Higley Family Moment and creating lasting memories...maybe when there's not so much wind and our dad is home?! You have to hand it to Jeron for his persistence and determination. He's an amazing kid!
