Power of the Media

Jeron was telling me today that he woke up last night with "both nose holes crusty. Why is that, Mom?" So I'm trying to explain, in terms that a five-year-old would understand, why we get "crusty nose holes."

Mom--When you go up past your nose holes, there's a big opening, like a cave. It's called the sinus cavity. When bacteria or a cold bug gets up in there, the cave makes a lot of snot and boogers (very scientific, I know...don't worry, I'm about to be shown up by my five-year-old) to try to get it out.

Jeron--MUCOUS! Perfect! You know that commercial with the mucous guys on it? (that would be Mucinex DM, for those not so commercial savvy) That's the kind of medicine I need!

Either our child is extremely observant and has a great memory, or he watches entirely too much TV. We prefer to believe it's observant and a great memory!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mt. Rose Value Pass Holders!!

Our Valentine's Day started a whole day early with a trip to Mt. Rose...Happy V-day from Daddy. Jadee went skiing for the very first time. "I a tuff girl! I go to Mountain Rose and ski with my daddy!" She really was a tuff girl. She put on all of the gear, jumped on the ski lift with Dad and had a great time coming down the mountain. Dad says she's somewhat of a trick skier...she likes to come down on one ski or the other. Sometimes she likes to lift them both up!

Jeron asked me if I'd seen him come down the mountain. Of course, I had! Here's the dialogue:

Jeron--It wasn't that fun.

Mom--How come?

J--I wrecked a lot.
M--How come?

J--The snow was different. It was more like ice.

Hmmm...that makes sense.

Here's another picture of Jeron...on a day when the snow was "good" a week or so before...in perfect form.

BYU!?!

Wyatt recently turned three months old...and he gets cuter every day! Kim let me take his three month pictures while they were here making chocolates. Is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen!? For even more beautiful pictures...you'll have to talk to Kim!

For some reason unknown to Wyatt or me, she insisted on putting him in this little BYU jersey and making him hold a BYU baby football. Well, you can see how excited he was about that!

"Mom! Why ya gotta make me look so goofy!? And BYU?!? What kind of team are they!?!"

Sorry, Wyatt, there was nothing I could do... You're STILL the cutest baby around!

Kimmie & the Chocolate Factory

We are so blessed to have talented friends who are willing to share their talents with us...even if they have to pack up three kids, leave at horribly awful hours in the morning and drive 75 miles to do it! Kim came last week to teach me how to make her delicious chocolates. Through much experience and many years of practice, she has perfected the art. Of course, the kids had to get in on the act, which we are grateful for, because they provide the material for this blog! :) The pictures tell the story...

Thank you, Kim and kids, for a wonderfully fun day!

TUFF Girl & the Motorcycle Kid

Jeron is the Motorcycle Kid. Jadee is officially a "TUFF Girl" today. As we were getting ready to go ride Jeron's motorcycle, Jadee said, "Daddy, I bring my baby and blanket." Jeremiah quickly responded, "No, we're going to ride motorcycles. Only TUFF girls can go. No babies, no blankies." Jadee, even more quickly, "I a TUFF girl, Daddy. I go ride brudda's motorcycle. No babies, no blankies. I go a track." So, the TUFF girl left the baby and blankie home and rode motorcycles instead. Of course, as soon as she got home, she was right back to sweet mommy girl. She is multi-faceted...we love her!

Jadee waiting patiently for her turn. "Daddy, my turn to ride?"
Jeron taking a REALLY long turn!Ready to go...

My First Blog

Kim has inspired me to start blogging!! I love to read about what's going on in her family and figure that maybe there are a few people out there who might be interested in our comings and goings...? So, here goes! My next post will be the adventures of today...motorcycle riding and skiing. ENJOY!
